ABOUT THE STALKING HORSE
The Stalking Horse Brewery and Freehouse combines traditional Cornish fare with an onsite craft brewery in a welcoming British pub setting. A rotating assortment of beers, plus a full bar and reliable pub menu offer visitors a delightful pocket of old-fashioned hospitality right in the hustle and bustle of West Los Angeles. The Stalking Horse is open daily serving lunch, dinner, late night and Proper British Brunch every weekend!
If we had to describe our brewer, Brandon Edwards’, brewing style and philosophy, it’s helpful to look at how he got into brewing in the first place. In his hometown, Concord, California, Brandon first got into brewing by accident in high school. A buddy’s family friend owned a local homebrew shop, where he and a group of friends worked, and naturally, this is where he began developing his tastes and techniques as a homebrewer.
After making his way down to San Diego, Brandon began brewing professionally at Pizza Port Solana Beach, where he spent almost a decade perfecting his craft. In 2013, Brandon took the position of Head Brewer at Columbus Brewing Company, where he led his team to gold at the World Beer Cup and was honored at The Great American Beer Festival.
Brandon pays homage to classic beer styles, with a distinct edge. With every batch, he strives to perfect his technique, to see how well and how clean he can make them. Despite being an award-winning brewer with local, national and international recognition, his favorite thing about brewing stays the same– being on the grind, getting sweaty and creative.
He also has a hand in the operations of our sister breweries, working with Director of Brewing, Noah Regnery, at Bluebird Brasserie and 6th & La Brea. When he’s not brewing, he’s drinking Sierra Nevada Pale, painting self-portraits, discovering new music, and mountain biking.
